Exposition Kerbedz: Following the Engineering Ideas
Luznava Manor, Luznava, Latvia, 2022
Kerbedz: Following the Engineering Ideas is an immersive exposition celebrating the legacy of 19th-century civil engineer Stanislav Kerbedz (1810–1899), located in the basement of Luznava Manor, which he once owned.
Divided into three rooms, the interactive journey begins in the Hall of Fame, where visitors explore Kerbedz's professional milestones through stylized awards, each narrating his engineering triumphs. A central screen allows for a virtual tour of Kerbedz's European projects.
The second room, resembling a classroom, delves into engineering principles with interactive lessons on bridge, tunnel, and railway construction, inviting visitors to test their skills at the blackboard.
The final Hologram Room offers a 360-degree view of Luznava Manor and engineering marvels, with Kerbedz's ghost guiding guests through the landscape. This exposition not only honors Kerbedz's contributions but also educates and inspires visitors to appreciate the complexities of engineering and its impact on history.
